Studio Eleven, Woodingdean.
The classic Art School workshop: we will be looking at ourselves: looking at our face, making a visual study of it, finding a likeness, seeking out our personality… Using pencil, graphite, charcoal and pastel or paint.
Saturday 11th May 10.30pm–3.30pm
Draw and/or paint your self-portrait.
As an ancient form of image creation dating back thousands of years, portraiture has often been seen as an ideal genre to record and capture an individual’s essence. However, with its capacity to elicit a deeper emotional truth and gestural statement, the drawn portrait can be much more than a visual record. It can provide insight and an emotional, timeless connection with its subject. Royal academy
Led by practicing artists – and experienced tutors – Rachael Adams, Pat Thornton and/or Robert Littleford.
Itinerary: morning 10.30am-12.30pm, break for lunch (tea and coffee, and bread, cheese and fruit supplied), afternoon 1.30-3.30pm
